Toll Tax Free List: The Toll Tax which is also known as toll, is a type of charges taken by the car drivers who cross the interstates expressway and national highways while traveling. This toll tax is applicable on every citizen of India who is driving their four vehicles which comes under The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

The Central Government rules says the tax is not collected from these 25 types people, earlier the number of this type was 9, as it has upgrade at present. The people living in the states must know the list of vehicles that can cross through national and state highways without paying the toll tax fees. Check the list below in the article.

The list has mentioned names for people who can cross the toll tax without paying the fee:-

  1. President of India
  2. Vice President of India
  3. Prime Minister of India
  4. Governor of Any State
  5. Chief Justice of India
  6. Lok Sabha/Chairman Speaker of the Rajya Sabha
  7. Chief Minister of a Particular State
  8. Cabinet Minister
  9. Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha MP
  10. Secretary to the Government of India
  11. Lok Sabha Secretary
  12. Supreme Court Judge

List of State Wise:-

  1. Minister of State of a State
  2. LG of Union Territory
  3. Chief of Staff
  4. speaker of a state assembly
  5. Chief Justice of High Court
  6. High Court judge
  7. Chief Secretary to the State Government
  8. Chief of Army Staff or equivalent in other services
  9. paramilitary forces
  10. Central or state armed forces,Firefighter department and executive magistrate also do not have to pay toll tax.
  11. Hearse vehicles are also exempted from paying toll tax.
  12. Foreign dignitaries who came on state visit.
  13. A member of the Legislative Assembly of a state is exempted from paying toll tax if he shows an identity card issued by the concerned Legislative Assembly of the state.
  14. A person awarded with Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Vir Chakra and Shaurya Chakra, if the person receiving this award displays his photo identity card, then he also does not have to pay toll tax.
